Everything you need to know before your first visit — and a few things that come up after.
Your Visit
Every session includes access to a private traditional sauna suite (seats 1–4 guests), individual cold plunges, our Caldera by Nordsprings community cold plunge (seats up to 10, on the side patio), and the community traditional sauna. Private suites are booked for 60-minute windows. Individual cold plunges, community sauna, and community cold plunge are open-access during your visit.
A swimsuit or athletic wear, a towel, and water. We recommend bringing a water bottle — staying hydrated before, during, and after a session is important. Everything else is already here. You don't need to bring anything special for the sauna or cold plunge.
Walk-ins are welcome, but we strongly recommend booking a private suite in advance — they fill up quickly, especially on evenings and weekends. Community sauna and cold plunge are available on a first-come basis. Book through the Westwood app or at gym.westwood-fitness.com.
Yes, there's plenty of parking on site at 6801 Ridgmar Meadow Rd.
Contrast therapy is generally safe for healthy adults. However, if you have a heart condition, low blood pressure, are pregnant, or have any serious medical condition, consult your physician before using heat or cold immersion. If you're unsure, err on the side of shorter sessions and a longer cold plunge temperature range. We're happy to talk through any concerns — just reach out before your visit.
Membership
Memberships can be managed and cancelled directly through the Westwood app — the same app you use to book sessions. Founding Members have a 6-month minimum commitment before cancellation is available.
No — the $135/mo rate applies for your first 6 months. After that, your membership automatically continues at the standard $175/mo Unlimited rate. No action is needed on your part and you keep full unlimited access either way. It's an introductory rate, not a permanent lock-in.
Memberships are individual and non-transferable. If you'd like to bring a guest, a Day Pass ($60) is the best option for them. Contact us if you have questions about group or couple bookings.
No — sessions on the 4/month and 8/month plans reset each billing cycle. Unused sessions do not carry forward. If you find yourself consistently not using your allotment, it may be worth switching to a different plan. You can adjust through the Westwood app.
Standard monthly memberships (Unlimited, 8/month, 4/month) have no minimum commitment — cancel anytime. The Founding Member plan has a 6-month minimum, after which it converts to the standard $175/mo Unlimited plan.
Pricing & Punch Cards
Yes. The 10-session punch card is valid for 6 months from the date of purchase. The 5-session card is valid for 3 months. Unused sessions after the expiration date are forfeited, so plan accordingly.
Punch cards are tied to an individual account and are non-transferable. Each session counts against the card holder's account when they check in.
The Day Pass at $60 is the right call — no commitment, full access for your visit. If you like it and come back, the 5-session punch card ($250) is a good next step before committing to a monthly plan. See all options on the Membership page.
Monthly Unlimited ($175/mo) is the best value if you visit more than 4–5 times a month — the per-session cost drops with every additional visit. The Founding Member rate ($135/mo for 6 months) is the best overall deal available right now. For no-commitment options, the 10-session punch card at $40/session beats the 5-session card and the Day Pass.
The Experience
Contrast therapy alternates between heat exposure (sauna) and cold immersion (cold plunge). The shift between hot and cold causes your blood vessels to dilate and constrict rapidly, which drives circulation, reduces inflammation, and triggers a cascade of hormonal responses — including a significant release of norepinephrine and endorphins. Most people do 2–3 rounds of sauna followed by cold plunge in a single session.
For the sauna, 10–20 minutes per round is a reasonable target for most people. For the cold plunge, 2–4 minutes is the sweet spot — enough to get the physiological benefit without overdoing it. If you're new, start shorter and work your way up. Listen to your body over any specific timer.
Both are traditional Finnish dry heat saunas. The private suites seat 1–4 people and are reserved exclusively for your group for a 60-minute session — no sharing with strangers, booked in advance. The community sauna seats around 15 and is open-access during your visit, shared with other members. Same heat, different setting.
The Caldera is our community cold plunge vessel — a solid wood barrel made from thermally modified hemlock with leathered granite seating on three tiered spiral steps. It holds up to 10 people, sits on our outdoor side patio, and runs at cold plunge temperatures (44°F). It's designed for groups and pairs naturally with the community sauna for a social contrast therapy experience.
Research on sauna use points to 3+ sessions per week for the most significant cardiovascular and longevity benefits. That said, even one or two sessions a week produces real effects on mood, sleep, and recovery. Consistency over time matters more than frequency in any single week. Most members who notice the biggest difference are coming 2–4 times a week.
Booking & App
Book through the Westwood Fitness Experience app (available on the App Store) or online at gym.westwood-fitness.com. Private suite reservations should be made in advance — community sauna and cold plunge are open-access during your visit.
We use the Westwood Fitness Experience platform to manage bookings and memberships. It's a third-party platform — not a separate studio. When you book or manage your membership through the Westwood app or website, you're booking at Climate Change Studio. Search for "Westwood Fitness Experience" on the App Store to download it.
Please cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before your session to avoid losing the booking. Late cancellations and no-shows count as a used session. You can manage your bookings through the Westwood app.
Yes — private suites accommodate 1–4 guests per booking. If you're bringing a group larger than 4, you may want to consider booking multiple suites or contacting us directly to discuss options. Groups interested in using the Caldera community cold plunge together (up to 10 people) should reach out at chris@climatechangestudio.com.
